Many
years ago, in his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota, Richard Ryan signed his
first professional Actors Equity Association contract to play the role of Gremio in the St. Paul Civic Opera’s production of Cole Porter’s
Kiss Me Kate.
After moving to New York City, he starred in touring company productions
of Sweet Charity, Funny Girl, Oklahoma
and
Guys and Dolls.
He has also headlined in a number of clubs and hotels such as New York
City’s The Taft Hotel with Vincent Lopez, The Diplomat in Miami, The
Breakers in Palm Beach, to name a few. He now lives in Mount Dora, Florida
with his wife, Marianne, and he is the President and Executive Producer of
the Mount Dora Community Showtime Concerts and is the host of WLBE 790 AM’s
The Richard Ryan Comin’ Home Show,
a weekly cultural radio broadcast.
